Join me on my journey as I prep myself mentally and physically for my first marathon. I have been given the opportunity to run the Chicago Marathon for team CASA, which I am very excited about! Throughout my college career I had the opportunity to work with the youth and the school systems in Iowa City and it was this experience that had a significant, positive impact on my life. I saw and experienced first hand how much of a difference one can make in the life of a child. What I learned the most was the difference those children made in my life. Now I have the opportunity to help the children who need it most in my new community. Please join me in supporting CASA as build a relationship with this remarkable organization one mile at a time!

For over 30 years, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Cook County has been training everyday people to stand up for children that have experienced abuse and neglect in an overwhelmed and extremely under-resourced foster care system. Today there are anywhere between 5,800 to 6,000 children in Cook County’s foster care system—and CASA of Cook County can only provide one-on-one support for less than 6 percent of them. Because of our limited resources, our volunteer advocates are court-appointed for cases deemed most in need of individual, dedicated support. Our goal in 2017 is to once again run the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and raise $50,000. 100% of the money raised will go towards CASA of Cook County's child advocacy program.
